29. It's Only Money
A fast expensive car is what I hope to buy
To go with it the salesman suggests a matching silver tie
I leave the showroom proud to have ordered a model from the top of the range
My cheque book is now heavily dented with little or no change
Have you ever bought something on a whim. It means buying something when you don’t really need it. I have, not as much now as when I was younger, because back then I had no responsibilities. But at the time, I didn’t feel bad about doing it. All my friends were doing it, so I thought why not. Years later, I worked out how much I would have saved If I hadn’t wasted it. It came to nearly fifty thousand pounds! The point I’m trying to make is this. Spending money feels better than saving it. It stimulates us emotionally and sexually, even If we won’t admit it.
