12. A Tropical Island

Mark Andrew Johnson

12. A Tropical Island

The sea and time will never stop moving

A cool breeze on a hot day is ever so soothing

Gazing up you notice not one cloud against the blue sky

Just then a sun-tanned girl smiles and catches your eye

The idea of staying on a tropical island sounds like paradise, and it would be if you were waited on hand and foot. But what I'm talking about is fending for yourself, without the amenities of a nice hotel and their staff. If I'm being honest, I would personally hate it. Having to find your own food, then cook it, plus worrying about all the creepy crawlies of the tropics. Thanks, but no thanks! Give me a traditional hotel any day.
